When is it Time to Visit a Podiatrist?

There are many reasons you might put off a visit to the foot doctor, including doubts about whether your problem is legitimate. If you begin to notice any of the following issues, or if you've been living with them for a while, relief is available. Book an appointment with one of our podiatry doctors to assess and address the problem.

  • Numbness, Pain, or Swelling: Occasional soreness or swelling is normal, particularly after a long hike or difficult workout. However, sudden pain, swelling, or numbness in one foot for no apparent reason could be a sign of a problem. Our podiatrist can help.
  • Continuous Heel Pain: Many different things can cause heel pain. If you are experiencing ongoing pain or discomfort, reach out to our podiatrist. We can examine your heels and even take x-rays to determine the cause and devise a treatment plan.
  • A Severely Ingrown Toenail: If you have severe or reoccurring ingrown toenails, a podiatrist can remove the problem with minimal pain. We can even numb your toe during the removal process for extra comfort.
  • Reoccurring Athlete's Foot: Athlete's foot is one of the most common fungal infections you can develop in your feet. While it can generally be treated with over-the-counter creams or sprays, reoccurring outbreaks merit extra attention.
  • Bunions: A bunion is a bony bump that develops on the outside of your big toe joint. As the bunion grows, it can become progressively more painful. We can recommend a treatment plan based on the size, source, and severity of your bunion.
  • Painful Corns or Calluses: If the dead skin on your foot has hardened or thickened enough, it can become painful. We can help remove areas of hardened skin or prescribe a topical medication to help heal them.
  • Joint Pain: If you have reoccurring or ongoing pain in the joints of your feet, visit our podiatrist to determine the source of the problem. We can help treat the root cause to help eradicate the pain for good.

Our podiatrist has the education and experience to diagnose and treat a wide variety of foot-related issues, including athlete's foot, heel spurs, hammer toes, foot odor and more.
